Founder's Associate (Operations & AI)

You run enum's operations side by side with Max: finance, ISMS, sales, procurement and contracts. You start together, take over one area after another, handle the day-to-day work yourself, and build the AI workflows so recurring work stops being manual.

About enum

enum is a European public cloud based in Cologne. We build and run the cloud platform companies use to run their applications and infrastructure in production. We have paying customers, a growing platform, and a small, remote-first team. Now we are looking for the person who, together with Max, makes sure enum runs as reliably as a company as our platform does.

What you own

The list is long, but much of it is highly automated, and you automate the rest. Every area still matters. We go through each area together first, then it is yours: you run it, coordinate with our tax advisor, law firm and vendors, and automate it step by step with your own agents. Max stays close for decisions, contacts and open questions. Billing, ISMS and sales come first.

Billing and finance

You own monthly billing runs, payment matching and dunning. With our tax advisor you keep receipts and bookkeeping clean, automate receipt capture and reconciliation, and maintain our cash-flow model, investor reporting and data room.

ISMS and compliance

You run our ISMS. We are working on ISO 27001, BSI C5 comes next. That means: maintain policies and risks, implement controls with the team, collect evidence, run internal audits and prepare and coordinate certification audits. You build automations that keep evidence, vendor reviews and recurring checks up to date, and bring new standards, reporting duties and data protection requirements live as they come up.

Sales and deals

You build and run our outbound and deal workflows: agents research accounts, enrich leads and draft outreach, while you qualify prospects, prepare offers, keep the CRM clean and make sure no follow-up drops. On larger deals, you model pricing and unit economics together with Max.

Procurement and vendors

You gather quotes from distributors and service providers, compare terms and model purchasing, leasing and financing options. You negotiate and manage ongoing vendor contracts, software tools and subscriptions, and keep costs and renewal deadlines under control.

Contracts and authorities

You own contract templates, service descriptions, DPAs and customer contract drafts in coordination with our law firm, and speed up reviews and security questionnaires with AI. You also handle registrations and filings with authorities and run funding programmes from application to final report.

Events, marketing ops and recruiting

You run conferences, events and print production from selection to suppliers, keep our day-to-day marketing, LinkedIn and AI-search visibility workflows running, and build the recruiting pipeline and candidate screening for our next hires.

Your first 90 days

  • Billing runs, payment matching and dunning happen every month without anyone having to remember them.
  • ISO 27001 is certified, and BSI C5 is on track: gaps known, measures planned, open items with an owner and a date.
  • Outreach and follow-ups run through agents, and no lead is left without a next step.
  • You have automated many processes that Max still does by hand today.

How we know it works after a year

  • Max spends most of his time with customers, partners and product, because your areas run reliably. You two still work closely together.
  • Your areas keep running while you are on holiday for two weeks.

What you bring

  • You have carried operational responsibility at a startup, a scale-up or in consulting.
  • You have built agents or automations that are still running today. Show us examples or a link.
  • You are precise, especially with numbers and deadlines, and you know when not to trust an AI.
  • You structure new topics fast and finish them without being told how.
  • You speak fluent German and good English.

This is not for you if

  • you expect finished processes. You build them, together with Max.
  • you prefer writing concepts to finishing things yourself.
  • AI is a chat window to you, not a tool you build systems with.
  • numbers, deadlines and fine print bore you.
